Eskilstuna celebrates its 350th anniversary

On 25 October 1659, King Karl X Gustav granted Eskilstuna its town charters.
The town celebrates its foundation day on this date. The 350th year jubilee
celebrations will be held during the whole week 4-12 June as well as on
Jubilee Day 25 October.


Jubilee week 4-12 June
During jubilee week everyone in the municipality of Eskilstuna is invited to join the
fun and exciting celebrations centred around the river Eskilstunaån.


4-7 June - a full programme on six different stages including fun and excitement
for children and families, theatre, performances and music of all styles and forms
including Bo Kaspers Orkester, Cirkus Cirkör, Yvonne, the Volunteer Sharp Shooting
Orchestra, the Dynamics and a Django Reinhardt Festival with great national and
international artists. The Swedish King and Queen will visit Eskilstuna on the National
Day, 6 June. 8-12 June – local entertainment includes thematic days and a festive
conclusion at Strömsholmen. All activities and programmes during jubilee week are
free of charge.

Jubilee Day 25 October
On 25 October 2009, Eskilstuna celebrates its 350th anniversary as a town with a
jubilee show centred on the river Eskilstunaån and Kloster Church.
